A Fund Designed to Help Bridge Africa’s Infrastructure Gap

An African Development Bank 2024 estimate indicates that Africa faces a US$402 billion annual infrastructure financing shortfall through to 2030), to cover the continent’s basic infrastructure needs, including the costs of climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience. At the Fund, we target bankable portfolio investments that contribute towards bridging the gap, and we invest equity and/or quasi-equity in such.

Our investment objectives include:

  • Investing the Fund’s capital in pan-African infrastructure projects and portfolio companies with a vision to positively contribute to economic growth and development of the African continent.
  • Investing profitably, responsibly, and sustainably in infrastructure projects and services with core focus on power& energy, transportation & logistics, water & sanitation, and digital and social infrastructure.
  • Deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for investors in the Fund by deploying the Fund’s capital into portfolio investments that are differentiated by trade-offs between potential risk and return .
